History of UCCC

Humble beginnings:
One night, a few friends discussed the needs of Catholic college students. UCCC became a project under the office of ASUC Senator Rosemary Hua at UC Berkeley during the 2012-2013 academic year.


On  Feb. 15-18, 2013, the first UCCC was held under the leadership of Rosemary Hua, Mosa Tsay, Crystal Wang, and Kyle Shackleford at UC Berkeley. Featured speakers included Fr. Michael Dodds, OP, Jackie Francois, and Paul J. Kim.

UCCC 2014 “FIAT LUX (Let There be Light!)” @ UC Berkeley:

On January 17-20, 2014, over 250 students, campus ministers, and religious gathered together for a second conference. Featured speakers included Bishop Barber of Oakland Diocese, Matt Weber, Mark Hart, Emily Wilson, and Paul J. Kim.

February 13-16, 2015, the conference was held in southern California! Featured speakers included Paul J. Kim, Pasquale Talarico, and Jaime Thietten.

UCCC 2016 “Anchored in Christ” @ UC Davis:

February 12-15, 2016, another campus to host the conference! Featured speakers included Emily Wilson, Paul J. Kim, and Father Leo Patalinghug.

The vision for UCCC was that the conference would travel to different campuses each year. This dream has become a reality. UCCC 2017 will be held at UCLA next year.
