“The purpose of the Divine Office is to sanctify the day and all human activity.” – Apostolic Constitution, Canticum Laudis.
Liturgy of the Hours (also known as the Divine Office) is often widely known as the prayer of the priests. However, the Apostolic Constitution, Canticum Laudis explains that it is “the prayer not only of the clergy but of the whole People of God.”
On Friday evening at UCCC, JP Maypa and Eddie Reduta used the metaphor of rowers on a boat – each side rowing toward sanctification.
Thus, with this guide to pray unceasingly, UCCC began each day with Morning Prayer to offer up the day’s activities and work to the Lord.
